Why I Crossfit...
Graduating High School an athlete, my physical mindset was all about Strength and Watching the Number of the weight I could lift, increase. Not once did I ever focus on my cardiovascular endurance and my flexibility. It was the same thing for me every week in the gym. Go In, Bust a Sweat Warming up, Limber up, throw some weight around, and repeat! I didn't necessarily have a goal, but just to keep my body "functional and healthy..." but I never changed.
I used to frown upon the word "Crossfit." I was close-minded about the whole idea of even "Crossfitting." All they do is throw around the same lightweight , hundreds of times at "Crossfit." What the hell are they doing? What is that?
I had the wrong image and the misinterpretation of Crossfit embedded in my head. I knew one thing about Crossfit at the time, and it was that you would lose a hell of a lot of weight doing it.So I thought I would give it a try... And boy was I wrong! There's much more too it !
My perspective of Crossfit has changed completely. It's changed me not only physically, but mentally! I have goals and I have the ambition to step foot in "The Box" almost everyday and better myself.

The people are awesome and our Coach Mike Babin is an awesome Coach and is highly educated on the whole concept/background of Fitness. Crossfit is one of the best choices I've made in my young life. ‪#‎APAR‬

Why I CrossFit
I have posted before the reasons of why I crossfit,but here is a reminder of the reasons.i 1st appeared on crossfit apars door steps in early feb.I had no idea of what crossfit was about.my wife had come a few days earlier to check things out,well there was a special at the time so I took the INITIATIVE and decided to join.at that time that's when I met the owner MIKE BABIN he explained all about crossfit, the benefits,the good,and was able to remove my fears about that crossfit stigma, (be in great shape. ) well let me tell you that was not me,when I walked into mikes doors I was pushing 310lbs,had a52 inch waist,typically lazy,i had no strength or any muscle tone at all.well mike started to work with me slowly and mythotically,learning my strengths and weaknesses.slowly but surely I was starting to lose weight,losing inches gaining strength.becoming confident in myself,giving me drive to exceed and push myself.well as of now I am in a 46 inch pant.(been about 15 years ! )I have lost close to 40lbs,and developing some muscles,i am even dead lifting 345 lbs ! MIKE BABIN I owe you more than you know,or could ever repay you.but the most important thing is that I have found a true friend.thanks again mike,love you like my brother.

Why I CrossFit
The simple answer is: Because I can and Because I believe in the program. I've accomplished things in fitness I never thought I'd be able to do. I'm constantly challenged and the camaraderie is infectious. Now why I choose to CrossFit at APAR is even more simple and that is, bc Mike is there. Mike's the kind of coach/trainer that KNOWS his people. He knows each of us on a personal level and knows what motivates and frustrates us. He knows what we're capable of
, even if we don't know it yet. He never lets us do anything we're not ready for and he truly cares about each one of us and helping us reach our goals. We're not clients to him. We're family. So, if you've been curious or wanting to give it a go, come to APAR where the best coach and the best people are here to cheer you on. And if you feel like CrossFit can be a bit 'cultish'... Well sign my ass up and hand me a glass of kool-aid!!! (Sugar free, please)

Why I CrossFit
I CrossFit because I LOVE IT!!!! It challenges me and makes me feel strong and empowered. I love the people I've met and the family I've become apart of. Thanks to Amanda Monceaux Abbott for getting me to join and for Mike Babin for pushing me hard everyday. And putting up with my crap. 😳
